Memory card coming unseated.

I went to read a book that I had loaded onto my memory card and it was showing in my My Douments and when I tried to read it the Nook said could not read the file.  I figured that I had loaded a bad file so went to side load it again.  When I mounted my Nook to the computer, I noticed that it could not find the memeory card.  I opened the back and the card was there, but the little holder that keeps the card seated was partially up.  I closed the door back down and this solved my issue and the book loaded with out issue.

Has anyone else had this issue?  Seems like a minor design fix for the next nook.

Whith the varying cheapness of name and un-named SD cards manufacturers.

I would suspect the SD cards first. If I used 2 or 3 different manufacters cards and they all had problems then I would have a tendacy to blame the nook.

But not just one card. As that doesn't quantify which is at fault.

Could as easily be the type of plastic and alignment of cards holes not quite right.

Just a thought.

Did you lock the microSD card in place? After installing the microSD card, you need to put your fingernail in the tiny slot on the metal SD card cover and pull it towards the bottom of the nook. You'll feel a click and the microSD card should be secure.

Exactly right.  We found another person who didn't read page 115 of the manual.

Only after checking to be sure that the card was locked down, as kjpus suggested and icebike confirmed.  It's a crucial step, but easy to miss.
