Did you ask if it would work internationally? If not, I don't really see why you are complaining, as the website states that nooks and ebooks can only be shipped to US customers, and the employees would tell you the exact same thing...

The only limitation you have is that you can not download books from B&N... You can download from other vendors as long as the format is pdb, pdf or epub... Myself, I live in the US and have downloaded eBooks from the UK... You need to search out the bookstores in your country...

You're welcome! I really hope you enjoy the nook and I'm very glad you came back to check the comments! What country are you in/from?
Doug Pardee has some wonderful links to help find eBooks from other sources and how to get them on your nook, some of these might work where you are.

@ janette06,
I'm sorry that you didn't do any research before purchasing the nook. If you had you would have seen the international restrictions, it's in the user guide and plastered all over this forum.
It has to do with international copyright, not that B&N is not "prepare to sell technology."

@janette06
You don't name your country, but if you're in Brazil, you can buy e-books from these booksellers:
http://www.livrariacultura.com.br
http://www.livrariasaraiva.com.br
and get free public domain books from:
http://www.dominiopublico.gov.br/pesquisa/Pesquisa
You can also find books that are internationally available through inkmesh.com and manybooks.com

Take a look at the Nook forum over at Mobileread.com. Here you will find a lot of international Nook users. And a lot of useful information.
