Thank you!  This helped very much.

Yes, it's some what clunky, but simply put

1.  Go to BN.com to your Nook library, delete those no longer needed, samples, books, whatever.

2.  Go to Nook on your PC, click refresh.

3.  Go to your Nook, my library, to Check for New BN content.  Added:  (If you have N2E, tap "Sync")

If I may, I would suggest that you not delete anything, just archive it.  Follow the above instructions and click "Move to Archive" instead of "Delete."

If you delete it and decide later that you want it, you'll have to re-purchase and re-pay for it.  Archiving will remove the data from your NOOK.

Added:  If you need to remove books you've sideloaded to NOOK, hook it up to your computer via, USB, navigate to "My Documents" and delet the files manually.  Empty the trash on your computer.  "Eject" your NOOK and tap "Chek for new contents" if it's the white-framed NOOK.  If it's the black-framed NOOK, tap your Sync button

Re: Nook -- Delete Books?

I was having a problem deleting the eBooks I deleted from the library.  Since they aren't on the Barnes and Noble website, you have to bring up Adobe Digital Editions program that you have to download in order to get library eBooks.  Go to the "Nook" bookshelf and delete them or return them on there.  After the sync they will disappear from your Nook.  I hope this helps anyone else.  It took me less than an hour to figure it out.  :smileyhappy:

Re: Nook -- Delete Books?

Yeah, I was surprised at the inability to delete as well.  I wonder if this is the deal:  to "delete" from a device, the information has to go somewhere, it just doesn't evaporate.  I wonder if there is a worry on B&N's side that a user would (somehow, I'm not that smart) be then able to retrieve and share books from a "trash" folder.

You can delete sideloaded material directly from the N1E, so I think it's more a conscious choice by programmers for some reason that probably wouldn't make sense to us...

I would suspect it has to do with people accidentally deleting things off the device, by inadvertantly tapping the wrong option  or not paying attention to what they are doing.  Then they would be getting calls from people who accidentally deleted a book and now wanted it back.  Even with all the warning messages, people accidentally delete things all the time, from their computers, where they have a larger screen and really can't accidentally tap the wrong option.

Re: Nook -- Delete Books?

Thank you so very much for your response on how to delete books from the Nook. I followed your instructions with no problem; however, the books are still on my BN library page on Nook.

I am an 83 year old trying to live in this technical age and don't understand what you mean by "after the sync they will disappear from your nook. How do I do the "sync"?

Re: Nook -- Delete Books?

Have you hit the sync button on your nook with wireless on after deleting?- That should get rid of them.

Re: Nook -- Delete Books?

Just hook your Nook to your PC go to the BN website, go to your Nook library delete the books you want from there and it will delete them off of your Nook.  Just make sure your Nook is connected to your PC.

Re: Nook -- Delete Books?

On my Nook I just went to "My Library" and clicked on the little refreshing arrows symbol in the top right corner of your screen next to the "Search Library" button (after deleting books on my B&N account online) and the library was refreshed.
