Nook Memory Issue

All books are archived on the B&N site, and show up on the Nook as archived, but the memory is still all used up, as if the books are still there. Software 1.5.0. Basic Nook, not color.

Re: Nook Memory Issue

1) The N1E (& N2 for that matter) list the percentage(%) of unused memory, not percentage full; make sure you're not confusing the two---it's happened to others before

2) Update to the latest software version for the N1E (1.7).

Re: Nook Memory Issue

1. The nook definitely says zero percent memory remaining; also, new downloads say this as well, and my computer tells me that my nook has zero kb available.

2. Whenever I try to download the 1.7 update, it stalls at about 74% and then tells me "Error downloading update." I have also tried to sideload it off of my computer, but there isn't enough memory on the nook for it.

Re: Nook Memory Issue

How much space does your computer say is available on the nook drive?

Re: Nook Memory Issue

Have you connected your Nook to the computer and looked at the Nook drive to see what is on it?  There will be several folders you will need to look in, such a My Documents, screen savers, music.   That should tell you what is taking up all the space.

Re: Nook Memory Issue

It's not usually my recommended remedy, but in this case have you considered deregistering your NOOK, doing a factory reset, and starting from scratch?

If you can't find any bogus hidden files (as previously suggested) that might be the only way to go at this point.

Also, if you are having persistent problems upgrading to 1.7, it may be a device problem. The reset might help that as well. Just remember to do the update before dealing with loading your content.

Thanks, this worked.
