I just got back from USA and got a nook to Colombia. It's working very good, bought some books on my PC using a VPN and then downloaded them on the nook. I'm a happy man.
Yup, VPNs are cool. Just a little beyond the abilities of Ma and Pa Polyester, but definitely the only way to go if you want to have a nook outside of the US/Canada.

I'm from Colombia too, and i have a nook. La conexión wi-fi funciona perfectamente en Colombia y la garantía también. Lo se porque a los pocos días de haberlo comprado tuvo un daño. Me comuniqué con el soporte técnico de B&N y finalmente tuve que enviar el aparato nuevamente a USA, y me lo cambiaron por uno nuevo. Eso si, tuve que asumir los costos de envío en ambos casos. Lo malo es que el servicio de compra de -ebooks no está habilitado en Colombia y entonces toca buscar otras opciones para los libros. Pero al margen de eso, es la mejor compra que he hecho en mucho tiempo.
