It turned off during the update. Now it won't turn back on. I have the battery out and it's plugged into the wall, but nothing is happening. The light didn't go on.

The light won't go on because there is no battery to charge.
Unplug it from the wall charger.
Give it a minute or two
Then, with the battery still out, plug it in and wait.
If that does not work, your best bet is to call Customer Support and they can either talk you thru 6 reboots, or replace the nook under warranty.
