I checked out an Overdrive ebook and put it on my nook. When I try to open it, the "Opening Your Document" message pops up, but then it goes back to the "My Documents" screen. My nook is authorized on Adobe digital editions, so I don't know why it won't work.

If it's a limited-time e-book, such as from a library, you have to use Adobe Digital Editions to install the e-book. ADE needs to tell the NOOK how long the e-book is readable for.
With ADE up, hook up your NOOK and it should show up in the "shelves" area on the left side of ADE. Just drag'n'drop the e-book from inside ADE to the NOOK entry in ADE.

If it's a limited-time e-book, like a library book, and you put it on the NOOK using something other than Adobe Digital Editons, the e-book won't open. ADE has to tell your NOOK what days the e-book is allowed to be opened.

I'm using Adobe Digital Editions, and have authorized my nook with the ADE on my computer. I'm experiencing no error messages, but my nook will not open the book.

Authorizing with ADE is NOT ENOUGH. You must COPY with ADE. If you copied with something else, your NOOK thinks the book has expired.

There is no need to be rude and yell. If by copying with ADE you mean opening ADE and plugging in my nook, then dragging the book onto the nook icon on the ADE screen, I have already done so.

Is it a library book? If so delete the file from your computer and download it again from the library. The ascm file that is downloaded can be corrupted. Also problems can occur if there is a delay between downloading the ascm file and opening it in ADE.
