Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Page flipping like on the nook app?

Is there a way to get my new nook color to flip pages like my nook app on my DroidX does? The pages on the app actually look like real pages when they flip, you can pull the corner down and kind of play around with the pages.. Thanks in advance for the assistance

@FrozenRapier

Welcome!  :smileyhappy:

This isn't the board you want.  This is the Nook Support board; you want the NookColor Support board.  Here ya go:

@Everyone who warned me about this

You're right!  Here's a NookColor question immediately above the "If you have a NookColor, you're on the wrong board" post!  :smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy:

Re: Page flipping like on the nook app?

I have the first edition Nook which I love.  However, when I visited my sister recently and used her Samsung Galaxy tablet, I really liked the page flipping feature.  It was like reading a real book.  Will this feature ever be available for the first edition or any edition of Nook ereaders?  I like it enough to consider buying an upgraded Nook if I can keep the e-ink feature.

Probably not since it's two completely different technologies.  Tablets are similar to a computer and can do animation, think of the eink readeras like an etch-a-sketch, there's no real way for animation to work.

I have an N1E, NST, NC, and an iPad.  I almost always read on one of the eink devices, especially if I'm going to read for any length of time.   Formore,  the other 2 are too heavy and awkward to hold for any length of time.
