Hello, I just purchased my nook and was surfing the forum for cool tips and tricks when I came across the button cracking issue (which of course made me instantly paranoid) Some nookers complained of a creaking popping sound? I was wondering if there is supposed to be no sound at all when you use the page turn, or a sound recognizing you've pushed the button. Just trying to prepare because I'm still considering buying a warranty.
Thank you <3

There definitely is supposed to be a small sound when you use the page turn buttons. This is completely normal. In fact, when I'm reading my Nook at night with my wife asleep next to me, I use the swipe method for turning the page for the reason that it's silent!

just beware because my husband bought me one on may 7th and gave it to me for mothers day and my button always made a louder sound than the other now I took it out ot read on saturday and the button is cracked. Now I am having a VERY hard time getting it replaced since I bought it through best buy so basically what they are telling me to do is since they don't have my warranty information because it is from best buy they say just wait two weeks to see if I get a new device in the mail and go from there. So I wait

<3 Thank you both for the info. It seemed either way it would make sense if it did or did not pop. I hope my sound is normal and not of oncoming doom.
@ Kaotic - I've heard that issue, Best buy can be a savior or a nuiscance when buying items like this. I hope everything gets sorted our!
Thank you both again!
