Pre-ordered a book. still cannot download

I preorderd a book (dance with dragons) it shows in my library as pre-ordered, but since its out today I would like to read it. I would have liked to start hours ago.  Howerver it still is in preorder status.

It says it will be in my "locker" on july 12th. I've read thru the manual, and i have no idea what the locker is.

I have the new nook that just came out...

I assume its something simple that I missed.. any thoughts?

I have the original Nook and it did download to it.

However, I wanted it on my Android phone for when I am work but it will not download. Just says it is pre-order only and will be released on July 12th. Well, here on the East Coast i am 8.5 hours into the 12th...

Did you sync your library?  Did you tap on the book to download it (the pre-order banner will stay until you update it).  If you did both of those and it still does not download, what about logging into your B&N account from your computer and downloading it from there?  Does that work?

Still unable to download using Nook for Android app. States it is only available for pre-order.

I'm having the same problems...I preordered A Stolen Life a couple days ago and now that it is available I cannot download it on my Pandigital. Online when I look at my account it says that it is in my library but it's still not showing up on my ereader. I have updated it, reset it, and hit the "Get Books" button and still nothing. Any ideas?

My Nook has the same problem with A Dance with Dragons.

I don't think I'll be preordering a book again; this has been a poor experience.

A couple of people have mentioned having this issue today.  Rebooting the device fixed it for them.

I'm seeing this issue in the nook for Android app also, for two books, neither of which is the new George RR Martin book.  So annoying.  Looks like B&N is having an across the board pre-order issue today.

I am having the same problem.  I can't download any of my samples and I preordered A Stolen Life and I get the message "couldn't get content license"  I'm not sure what to do.  I've never had this problem on my nook, but lately I've been reading from my IPhone.  Some of the books I own and I can't get into them.  Right now I'm bookless which is irritating.  I spend a lot to be able to read.

Finally got it to work.

This is what I did after attempting rebooting - refreshing to no avail.

I rebooted my android device

Opened Nook reader app

Refreshed my library

Logged out of Nook reader app (menu button - log out)

Say 'yes' to letting it remove all my books from my android device

Log back into Nook reader app.

Wait a bit while it refreshes my library.

Click on Download link for my pre-order book.

Reading that book now =)

Thanks for taking the time to try to help, Nallia.  Unfortunately, I had already tried rebooting before I posted, and it didn't fix the issue.

Still can't download my book.  Rather frustrated.

I tried this, only I didn't reboot, I just logged out and logged back in, and it worked.

I wonder why they delete EVERYTHING when you log out.  All my covers were gone and I've had to refresh a bunch of times to get them back.  You'd think they'd just pull the books but keep the cover images for faster loading when you log back in.

I called B&N technical support.  Step 2 (no, really, step 2) in their troubleshooting list is to "deregister and reregister" the device.  They told me that I'd lose all my notes and bookmarks in the public domain ebooks that I've copied to my nook in doing so.  Obviously, this is unacceptable.  So they told me to just a wait a few hours to see if the situation resovles itself.

I have learned to reboot everything - especially because I am running a heavily modified Android platform. The issue with them removing the books stems from rights and DRM rules.

What keeps the time down for me when I re-logged was that I had archived most every book I have finished. Only had 4 to re-download.

I have no issue with them removing the books, I just think they should keep the images unless the user clears all data (through app management).  I don't archive because I keep all my books on my nook, so I only download what I'm actually reading to my phone.  This solution has cleaned up all the books I've finished and don't need on my phone anymore, which is kind of nice.

I read where someone had this issue with another book and the N1E.  That person archived the pre-order book and then unarchived it and it then was downloadable.

Same thing happened to me today with a pre-ordered book today with new Nook.  Had to reset Nook to original settings.  That did the trick.  for some reason it was not finding B&N account.  Hope this helps.

The archive/un-archive did not work for me, but when I put it on a shelf, it suddenly downloaded.  Good luck all.  I doubt I'll be pre-ordering again.
