Printing a page from a downloaded book

can you print a page from a book that you down load from BN??  if so how do you do it

I would convert it to a PDF with Calibre and use Acrobat to print it.

Good idea!  But how do you get past the DRM?  Not trying to do anything bad, but I would like to print up some recipes in some cook books that I have, kind of like I would photocopy a page.

One route: open the e-book in NOOK for PC (or Mac eReader), do a screen print, paste into an appropriate graphics program, and print from there.

I am looking into Calibre and mostly what I am seeing is how to convert to send books to Nook not take books from the Nook and covert. 

What about theDRM  ??

Calibre will not convert ebooks with DRM.

I think Doug's suggestion is probably the only way to this without breaking the DRM.

I have to admit, being able to print a limited amount of text from a book would be nice.  Maybe making it a paid service at a small amount per page would do the trick.  Sort of simulate going to a library and paying the fee to use their copier.  I know it's not ideal, but everyone (read as content owners) is so darn paranoid that someone might abuse the content that they blanket punish everyone.  Even those who would use it for legitimate personal use.

Unfortunately this is a stuck subject with no easy answer.

Easier for me than loading the NookPC software, and not TOO painful, and since the display is good enough to support it, may as well use it

Agreed. Although, to be precise, it hurts ONLY those who would use it for legitimate personal use. The pirates, meanwhile take whatever they want with impunity because DRM is about as effective as a placebo (and for the same reasons).

I just put nook pc on my computer but can not figure out how to print screen as Doug suggested. 

Going to try the digital camera trick next.

Does anyone know how to print the screen ??

Press the "Print Scrn" button on your keyboard. (It might be abbreviated slightly differently.)

That copies the screen to the clipboard. You then need to paste it into a graphics program (like Paint) and print from there.

Super-easy program for screen capture is Capture By George--display your page, open Capture, take a picture then paste in any word processor or other type program.

I have a few pages I'd like to print from some magazines I purchase through B&N.com...so I downloaded Nook for PC thinking I could screen shot it, but the magazines can't even be downloaded using Nook PC.  Any suggestions?

Do you have a flatbed scanner? That might be easier than taking a picture of it.

Some publications (I know the New York Times is one) only allow you to load on your Nook itself, through the wi-fi interface.  You cannot sideload or load on to any other device.
