I have just received a refurbished Nook I ordered as a gift. It was ordered from B&N on Ebay. Since the return window is 14 days and this is a Christmas gift, I need to be able to charge it and make sure it is working. (It looks new, BTW.)
My question is this, can I charge it, register it to my account, check it out and then de-register it in preparation for giving it to my daughter so she can register it to her account? This sounds reasonable to me, but I have been wrong before! ![]()
I am excited about being able to share this new toy with my daughter. We already own 2 Nooks and love love love them.
Thanks for any insight you all might have for me.

I'm sure that what you describe doing will work. In addition to unregistering and then having your daughter register the nook under her account, I would also do a "Reset To Factory Settings" on the nook before giving it to her. See page 173 of the Nook User Guide for instructions on how to do it.
I'm sure she'll love her present!!
