Screen burn in?

I downloaded a single picture as my screensaver.  Are there issues with burn in if that is the only image?

Thanks,

Howard

I recently posted that question here myself as I prefer to use the screensaver that came with my Decalgirl skin.

I was told that using a single picture was just fine.  Enjoy!

Re: Screen burn in?

No, E-Ink screens don't "burn in".

That's awesome. I just wondered that too.

You said, "E-Ink screen do not burn in," so does this mean I can turn off the screensaver and let my favorite scriptural text (or favorite quote, poem, etc.) just remain in clear view whenever I want to look at it? Thanks!

OOPS! Apprently, you cannot turn off the screen saver on the E-Ink Nook. That seems an oversight for a device that doesn't require one ;-)

The screen needs to lock to avoid random page turns and (yikes) purchases when something brushes the screen.  I can see why B&N tossed it to a "saver" when it does.  Otherwise, they'd get a lot of calls about how the Nook just stopped responding and spend hours saying "it's locked, please push the 'n' button and swipe as directed."

Of course, nothing is stopping you from making your screen saver pictures with your favorite text on them.

Thanks for clarification. And, yes that idea of tweaking screen saver images is intriguing! :smileyhappy:

Just make your favorite text/quote/poem into an image and save that as your screensaver.  :smileyhappy:
