Since 1997, you’ve been coming to to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Some parts of the shop won't work at home

WiFi only nook running well...except at home in Shop, only 3 lines appear with eBooks, magazines, newspapers. Able to buy stuff just fine through eBooks, but many shop features missing.

At any other WiFi spot, all the other stuff like promotions, books under $5, top 100 appear.

WN700 G router with stock settings, and for years, every other internet and email service runs fine on different computers.. the nook using some special port or router service, and only for part of the store? Or what?

I'd buy more stuff if I could see more of the shop more often...

Re: Some parts of the shop won't work at home

I sometimes have problems with the shop fully loading if the connection is not strong or goes in and out, with either Wi-Fi or 3G. If exit and go back in to reestablish a connection it seems to load just fine. Heck, sometimes I just need to move a few inches over on the couch to get a good enough signal.

At least that's my experience. It could be something else entirely for you.

Thank you for posting.  We're striving to improve the reading experience and your input is valuable.

Wiith regards to the WiFi connection problem, try this...

This should fix your connection issue:

1.  Tap on the WiFi tab.

2. Tap on the Wi-Fi hotspot

3.  Tap on the connected Wifi (the one that has the check mark)

4. Tap on Forget

5.  Reboot your NOOK (Hold the power button down for about 20 seconds.  Then hold down the power button for about 4 seconds to restart)

6.  Scan again for Wifi hotspots and then reconnect.

Please let me know if this worked for you...

Re: Some parts of the shop won't work at home

Close. After the forget/reboot the extra shop items appeared, even before reconnecting the wifi.

Then...still only ebooks/magazines/newspapers actually work as selections, and they work quickly.

The other shop items now say "loading", but I cancel after 5 minutes when nothing happens.

Internet browsing works if that helps.

So a little more digging I guess....
