I have a Nook 1st edition and use it constantly .

 I noticed that the battery needs charging more often and wonder if I should replace the battery.Right now I have to charge it every night and sometimes by evening.

 I looked but haven't found directions on just how to do this.This was a present so all the setting up was completed for me so please say I won't need to change anything if I change the battery.

Instructions on how to remove the back cover and change the battery are in the user guide which is on the Nook in My Documents and on the website in the Nook support area.
