can't sign in PC App or Sync to my library

so i just got a new laptop, and before i was using my brother's. The App worked well his laptop and would sync right away when i purchased a ebook. now I downloaded the App to MY laptop, but when i sign in and try to sync, it will just say "syncronization complete" right away, and when i go to my account settings i'm signed out and need to  sign back in. i already redownloaded the App but it does the same thing. i need help please!! oh and i also downloaded a few books to my documents on the laptob in the Nook folder where they're supposed to be, but still nothing
