can't transfer movies to the SD card

Whenever I try to transfer/ sideload movies from my computer to the nook or to the 32GB card added to the nook Tablet I get a message saying that there is not enough space for the transfer.  However, I have tried MP4 format and Mkv format and I get the same message.  The movie is only 5GB and the card is 32 GB.  What gives?  I dod I fix this?
