I have had the Nook for a month now. I have the latest update. I can no longer view My Documents. When I press that option on the touch screen the Nook reverts to my wallpaper and the lit home touch screen menu. I have .pdf documents that I use daily and they won't come up anymore. The folder does show with all the documents when I plug the Nook into the PC. Help is appreciated!

There are numerous post regarding the my documents corruption after upgrading to v1.2.
1. Go to main screen of nook
2. Connect to PC and Delete all side-load content from nook. (do not copy these files and recopy them later)
3. Eject and Disconnect nook.
4. Turn nook of wait 45 seconds and restart it.
5. Connect to PC
6. Add original content into the My Documents folder (use original files)
7. Eject and Disconnect nook
8. Go to Library - My Documents and select Check for new content.
Hope this helps.

I didn't have to go through all of that. I just turned my Nook off completely, turned it back on, and the documents were there. It seemed to be almost like that necessary reboot of the computer when you add something new.

I had the same problem. I have deleted all the content from the nook, copied straight from the source, and rebooted the Nook multiple times.
Same problem. The Nook scans My Documents, jumps back to home screen.
I can't use the Nook to read my PDF's anymore. I could with version 1.1.1.
And I have opened EVERY pdf from my computer - none have any issues.
I really like the Nook, but B&N's response on this problem, which is clearly not isolated, has been ZERO. No statement. No acknowledgement. Level 1 support has no idea that this is a problem.

I am having the same problem. I have called tech support four times and they don't even seem to know there is a problem. I have been told to re copy from the source, do factory fallback and drag and drop one at a time. None of this works. I even had my nook replaced and I was having the same problem with the new one. I did factory fallback and did not allow the new update to occur. So now my pdf's are readable, but I can't use bookmarks since that in on the new update. An issue that is driving me insane. I also can't buy new books through barnes and noble because that causes the update to occur. I don't know if they plan on fixing this issue but if they don't even realize there is an issue they won't fix it. This is something I can't budge on. I need my pdf's. I have over 100 books in this format. I will soon have no choice but to purchase a kindle which I do NOT want to do. I really want the nook, but it's killing me.

I'm having this issue too with a nook I just bought in-store. It's more than annoying as I have a lot of content in PDF format. Is a fix for this being worked on?
Just to recap, as others have state, the problem is that when you click on "View My Documents" under "my library" it just goes back to the home screen. I really want to keep the nook, but can't if I won't be able to read my PDFs on it.

I'm happy to know that I'm now the only person this is happening to. Not that misery loves company, but it affirms that I'm not crazy as I kept reading the directions AND watching the video tutorials about what should happen. I hope they are working on this issue.
I wonder if the Kindle has/had so many glitches...

Check this thread. http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com/t5/eBooks-Help
There is probably nothing actually wrong with your documents.

Your point number 2 suggests that these files have been corrupted and need to be replaced.
However, there is no documented case of this being so.
A simple comparison of the files will undoubtedly reveal they are identical with the original, and have not been corrupted in any way.

I'm posting simply to add my name to the list. I can no longer view any side loaded content. B&N, please fix this right away. And please take more care in the future when pushing updates to our Nooks.

I was having this problem and might still be having the problem, who knows. However, I was not able to view MyDocuments and it would go back to My Library or the main screen. I could see My Documents flash but it would'nt show what was in My Documents, just a quick flash. None of my PDFs would show they were there, but would if connected to the computer. I had downloaded quite a few and had to delete them.
I also received the following error message several times: " Activity library (in Applications Library) is not responding." I tried searching for the term but couldn't find any information on it.
I left one PDF file in My Documents and disconnected the battery and left it out for about 10 minutes.
I turned it on and the PDF file was in My Documents.
I then re-installed the rest of my PDF files to the SD card and none of them showed up in My Documents, not even the the ebooks that come with the Nook. Also, My Library wouldn't show My Documents.
I added some PDFs to My Documents and some to the SD card. Now it will search for new items, flash My Documents and go to the logo page. None of the PDFs show up. The PDF that did show up after the battery re-set is still showing up under what I'm reading now. None of the others I added will show up in My Documents.
I then removed the battery again. I added one PDF and checked it was listed. I then added another 3 PDFs and they were listed of course after clicking on check for new items. I added all of the PDFs to the SD card which totaled 16 items before it began messing up again. By that I mean when going back to the unit it will check for new items, flash My Documents and then go to the logo page. I had added an additional 3 PDFs which caused it to not show and once I deleted them from the SD card everything was fine. The SD card is still showing basically empty, but when adding 3 items to it I won't be able to access MyDocuments it will only flash and go to the logo page.

In another tag posted here, one member stated it was the SD card (if you have one) that needed indexing and that was why the problem is occurring. I'm not sure that's the answer because I placed all of my PDF files on the SD card and removed it and re-seated several times and that didn't work. If you don't have a SD card, I think this is the answer to this problem.
You can only load up about 3 -5 PDF files at a time. For me, the magic number is 19 before the Nook will begin going into a loop. I will get the error message about the library and when it comes up it will show My Documents and then start checking for new items and then go to the logo page or settings page and stops. It will do nothing. It wasn't until I removed 47 of my PDFs to just leave 19 that it began working properly again.
You can't place folders on the SD card, the Nook doesn't see them. Very tedious and long process.

I was having this problem earlier tonight. I tapped View My Documents, and nothing seemed to help. Then I turned off the nook and turned it on again, and it still didn't work. I connected it to the computer and checked to make sure the documents were still there.
They were. So I ejected it and then removed it. Then I tried again, and it didn't still didn't display the items in the My Documents folder. Then I looked down again, and there they were.
I don't know what happened or if anything I did made a difference. Or maybe they were a little slow (there are a lot of them). Or maybe I was being impatient, and by tapping View My Documents more than once, I was making it go even more slowly becuase it kept repeating the same command.
Once it displayed again the first time, it was fine.

If you don't want to read this all this try what is is BOLD TEXT
I had this same problem after the 1.2 update and a week battery so I ended up Exchanging my month old one for a new Nook with 1.2 pre installed. (14 day only for cash refund Tech Support labeled it a hardware defect and that qualified for exchange)
After charging an re-registering I put in my 8 gig SD card with my books on already they where not found. I then copied the books off the SD to my PC. Eject then restart the nook check "for new content" none found as expected. Reconnected to the PC and started replacing the books a couple at a time with no problem. Half way threw about 500 books I restarted the nook and the books where gone again. After restart after restart of my books not showing up restarted again and went to my Nook setting checked the SD card memory it was reading 99% full at 1.9 gigs of 2 after a short wait it changed to 98% free. Then went back to my library let it auto search and all my books are back. Now anytime I add new books if I search for new content before the SD card is ready no books show up so I have to RESTART THE NOOK GO TO SETTINGS CHECK THE SD CARD MEMORY IF CORRECT GO TO LIBRARY AND MY DOCUMENTS WAIT FOR THE AUTO SEARCH TO COMPLETE MY BOOKS ALWAYS SHOW hope this helps
