unregistered nook,reregistered nook, library gone

can anyhelp me with this?

I had about 20 books downloaded wirelessly to my nook and I was having trouble with my nook freezing up, I removed the battery, and rebooted, and then I unregistered and reregistered using the same username and password.  Now I cannot retrieve any of my downloaded books.

I searched the forum and I cannot find anything that can point me in the right direction that will help me get my books back.

go to "My Library"  then go to the menu item "Check for new B&N content"  assuming you have registered your NOOK to the same account as before, the books should show up in a minute or so, assuming these are books you downloaded from B&N, if you sideloaded, I cant help you

I have tried to download new content and that didn't work.

I re-registered under my same account name.

I am not sure what side loaded means, but I have paid for all my books and downloaded them through the nook with Barnes and Noble.

Any ther suggestions???  I have about $50 worth of books that just disappeared and there were several that I hadn't read yet.

Side loading means you hook your nook to your computer with the USB cable and you drag your book files to to the Nook. The Nook acts just like an external harddrive.

Try turning your nook completely off, then turning it back on again.  Make sure airplane mode is off and you have either a good wireless or 3G signal. 

Then go to MY Library, and check for B&N content (make sure you are not on the My Documents page).

If that doesn't work, double check that you correctly keyed in your information when you reregistered.

Why did you unregister?

Unregistering removes all B&N content from your NOOK.

Verify that you are registered to the same account.

Using the web browser on your computer log into the account your NOOK is registered to and verify that all your books are in your online library.

If you can not see your books in the online library of the account your NOOK is registered to, then you have registered it to the wrong account, re-register it to the correct account and see if that resolves the problem.

I had a similar problem yesterday.  After charging my NOOK (had more than a year) I had a message that I needed to register my NOOK to a new or existing B&N account.  I figured it was a software update and reregistered my NOOK on my existing account.  Much to my surprise the library was gone (124 books).  I could find it on my PC, but not my NOOK.

I talked to a tech person at my local B&N who walked me through how to get them back.  Yeah for that, but on the downside even though the titles are back on my NOOK I have to go back and download each book again.  My library no longer shows what page or how many pages are in a book and it no longer shows which books are NEW.  I probably had a dozen or so books that I had not read yet.  FUN!
