Proper way to sync "last page" between iPhone and iPad Nook apps

Is there anywhere I can read - or can someone explain - the "proper" way to sync my last page read between an iPhone and iPad Nook apps.

This - what I would think is a very simple and expected task - happens very easily and automatically between the iPhone and iPad versions of iBooks - but it is very inconsistent with the Nook apps.

I would like to know this info as well. I have never been able to sync my Nook Classic with my iPhone app.
