I've added shortcut to a pdf file located at external SD card on home screen. I had a choice of using "Viewer" or "Office Suite" and chose "View" as default. Now I want to change it to "Office Suite" but can't find a way to do so... I've already browse to the, long hold it and changed default to "Office" but that didn't affect the shortcut on home screen.

Have you tried deleting the shortcut and re-adding it since you changed the default? Is the only thing that I can think of as it should work fine. The long press menu in the file location is correct.

Try clearing the data and cache for the default app. If that doesn't work, uninstall the default app and then reinstall it (or temporarily add a third that can view the file type). You should then be presented with the "open with" prompt.

Why didn't I think of that.
I couldn't clear the cache as I didn't know how...
But I installed other PDF reader as you suggested that invoked "choose default application" routine.
