I don't think my HD+ had one on the device itself. I know I don't have one now. It took them awhile to get one posted to the website but you can find one for the HD on the HD support page:

If you haven't deleted it, then just search for guide and it will show up.
What they do is they put it at the very end of your books list (for some strange reason) so it's hard to find.
The link compulsive reader shared will have the latest version.
Word Search, Kriss Kross, Quote Falls, Hangman - Word Game Pack.
Alarm Clock, Weather, Calendar, ToDo - Alarm Clock & Calendar.
3 Hidden Objects Adventures - 3 Hidden Objects Adventures.

I downloaded the manual & added it to Calibre. It's a lot easier to have a seperate copy of the manual as a guide to look at while performing various tasks on the device. If you don't have Calibre copying the file to your computer's desktop & opening it in Adobe works just as well. (Although I think Calibre's reader does a better job).

They don't take up space that you can use. Preinstalled stuff (eg, app, documents) occupies the "/system" partition, which is reserved for preinstalled stuff. You'd be surprised at how much vacant space is there (35 MB on my HD+), reserved for preinstalled stuff that isn't there yet (eg, future updates).
