Why update to Google apps when we already have it on B&N

[ Edited ]

Why is google asking me to update my apps, when I never downloaded any of the Netflx, Twitter etc through them? I have been hitting cancel because I have downloaded my apps from Barnes & Noble.

Also, if you update app to google are you no longer able to post using your nook features, such as when posting a reading status on Facebook or Twitter. If the nook symbol is not on the app then does that mean you cannot post status's from your Nook HD? Such as for Nook for friends?

Google is a pita like that, it is set to auto update apps by default, and as the apps are available in google play it sees that they are not running the current version that is listed in Play, and tries to update them.

you can go into google play and at the top right of the screen hit the 3 dots that take you to the settings, under settings you can tell it to not auto update apps.
