Lend Me indicator in Nook Store

Status: New Idea

I understand that it is the Publisher's who have chosen to not offer the Lend Me option on books, but lately, I've been wanting to Lend Nook Books to my kids because I think they would like them, but few of them seem to have this option.  Also, especially when dealing with classics, there are multiple editions to choose from now, and I often opt for the cheapest.  I have no idea if spending a few dollars more may provide the option to lend that book verses the cheaper one I selected which doesn't.  I would gladly pay a few dollars more for that option, if it were provided at the point of sale instead of after you download the book and realize your dilema.

The Nook Store should include an indicator that a book is eligible or not before you purchase.

If you are talking about the website, it does tell if the book is lendable on the Nookbook page for each book. If you're shopping from the Nook itself, I believe I saw it on the details page but I rarely shop from my Nook so I'm not sure.

On the website it says on the book's page if it is a LendMe book.

Another option would be to sideload the books you want to share with them, and then input the unlock information (name and CC number) onto their device.  That way you don't need to worry about if a book is LendMe or not.

As a follow-up to this post, my wife and I both have Nooks, and often read the same books.  I understand about the publisher/lend situation, but why can't a provision be made to link our accounts in such a way as to loan-or-allow family members to share books on their own readers?  It's not as though we are going to buy them again anyway, and it is just a nuisance to continually trade devices for this purpose.

Because the publishers won't allow it, they don't care if its family members or not.  You can still share books, just download to thcomputer, sideload to the other Nook.  When you try and open the first book, it will ask for account name and cc number, input it once and you should be good to go for all books sideloaded after that downloaded with same cc number.  I do it all the time with my mom.
