NST-A quick add to shelf option

Status: New Idea

My suggestion is that there's a faster way to add a single book to a shelf.  Add an "add to shelf" button in the information screen when you double tap a book in your library.  That way, if you want to add a new book to a shelf, it's fast and easy instead of scrolling through your book list in the shelf edit menu.  With it only sorted by title, if you have a book in the later alphabet, adding a book to a shelf is tedius.

So in summary.  Double tap a book to bring up the book info screen.  Press "Add to Shelf".  Pick the shelf.  Done.

Also, you could add a "Shelves:"  item in the information page to show what shelves a book is already part of.

In other words, return the shelf functionality to the way it was on the Nook First Edition.  It worked just fine, but was revamped anyway, to a much less functional form.

Actually, it's more like the feature on nook color and nook tablet.

I found the shelving system under the 1st edition really cumbersome because you had to keep backing out of options.

Therealso here also needs to be a way to see the unshelved books.  That was the best feature on the N1E.

The current system is too cumbersome with a couple of thousand books, you have to scroll through almost 200 pages to find the book you want. The option to manage what shelves a book appears on from the book properties looks like it would be fairly intuitive. A button on the book properties screen that pops up a list of your shelves with a check box next to each one would be logical, or even a scrolling list on the properties screen.

Concur, I just upgraded from Nook Classic to NST(G) and trying to recreate my shelves from the classic is nigh impossible.  Having a Shelves tab in the book info screen where you can see the sleves a book is on, and add or remove a shelf would be great.  Additionally,  the current "add" system need to have the same sort options as the library (Most Recent, Author, Title).  Finally, there needs to be an "Unshelved" shelf that is automatic.  When you go to the shelves view it would show as it's own shelf (and conviently, in shlef name sort, it would be last or near the bottom).  All books start here, and are automatically removed from this shelf when added to any user-generated shelf.

Too simple it seems.

Why do people (B&N) keep using "newer" technology to complicate and obfusticate?

SInce they are discontinuing the line at least they could fix it as a parting gift.
