It would be really nice to be able to sort my nook books by genre. I would really like to look at the genre and view my based off of Thriller, Romance, Action, etc.
I think it would be fantastic if the nook library had a system, like a shelf, with a list of books that you have already read. It gets pretty frustrating for an avid reader, like me, to have to constantly weed out the books I’ve read. A separate tab in my library would be awesome, and if I wanted to re-read any of them- it won’t be a problem because they are all organized!!
It would be very helpful if when displaying books on a shelf created for a specific series, an option to display by series order were available. Thanks for considering this suggestion.
It would be nice to be able to organize the library on each of your devices on your computer (both shelves for all devices, and what profiles items are assigned to on the HD and HD+). A lot of things are easier on the computer with a mouse and keyboard than on a touchscreen device. It would also be much easier to do bulk changes on a computer with checkboxes, etc. Being able to organize your library from B&N's website (or even a Nook application on your computer) could also be used as a way to back up shelves, and easily restore them after a device has been deregistered and registered again.
There doesn't seem to be any way to search "mynook" on the website. Obviously once you have a lot of items, this is a problem. Having to scroll through 100 books to find something is just crazy.
It would also be nice to be able to sort by date purchased. This is needed on the website, apps, and nooks. Currently sort is a little erratic, but it puts anything at the top of the list even if you just opened it to see what it was. This way I could easily find something I bought last week or last month. Or I could do a reverse sort to find things I bought a long time ago.
I would love for the on-line wish list to be available on the nook. As it is, you have to create a separate wish-list on the nook, and if you purchase a book on-line that is on your nook wish-list then the book does not disappear from the nook wish-list. Annoying.
I'm trying to use the library section of "My Nook" on the B&N site, and wanted to recommend that with all teh filters you do have, why not filters for things like "Samples, "Lend me", "Pre-order" and other book tags the site already uses. As it is, anything that isn't aperiodical or a textbook is all under the only "book" filter, so finding anything in there is fairly difficult. Other tags that could/should be used/added (and then filterable) would include Genre, Omnibus/Series Editions (e.g. https://mynook.barnesandnoble.com/productDetail.html?ean=9780345541178&deliveryId=686751162 and https://mynook.barnesandnoble.com/productDetail.html?ean=9780307974174&deliveryId=189799646), etc.
Thanks for considering this request.
There should be a subscription page. Currently it takes you to your mynook magazine library and you have to search through every magazine to find a subscription.
The fact that you can't search for anything in your library makes it worse.
I assume it's been setup this way to make it more difficult to unsubscribe. It seems to me it used to be much easier.
I should be able to unsubscribe from my nook as well. It should be an option in the item details. There is a subscribe button that gets greyed out once you subscribe. Instead it should change to an unsubscribe button!
It would be nice to allow an export of the information for all the books in my library to a CSV file, or something similar, to allow uploading on book cataloguing sites like LibraryThing and GoodReads. The information like title, author, publisher, page numbers, size of book, ISBN, etc is all available on each books product information page. Doing it book by book can take a while, so having an export option would be very nice.
I think that Barnes & Noble could really use some input from its customers to create a "perfect" Nook that would really please its customers (you!).
Reply with your ideas for Barnes & Noble on what there should be on the next Nook!
Please bring Nook online store to Australia and New Zealand. At present it is very hard for me to be able to buy Nook ebooks online as it checks the ISP domain and block the sale fo the item outside US.
I understand that it is the Publisher's who have chosen to not offer the Lend Me option on books, but lately, I've been wanting to Lend Nook Books to my kids because I think they would like them, but few of them seem to have this option. Also, especially when dealing with classics, there are multiple editions to choose from now, and I often opt for the cheapest. I have no idea if spending a few dollars more may provide the option to lend that book verses the cheaper one I selected which doesn't. I would gladly pay a few dollars more for that option, if it were provided at the point of sale instead of after you download the book and realize your dilema.
The Nook Store should include an indicator that a book is eligible or not before you purchase.
