At the bottom of the B&N Community discussion list is a link to "B&N Blogs" at http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com/t5/B-N-Blogs/ct-p/BNBlogs which is of course hopelessly obsolete.
How about either (a) redirecting it to the actual Nook Blog at http://www.barnesandnoble.com/nook-blog/ or (b) just removing the link.
Leaving an obsolete link to a dead blog is just sloppy.
I think it would be fantastic if the nook library had a system, like a shelf, with a list of books that you have already read. It gets pretty frustrating for an avid reader, like me, to have to constantly weed out the books I’ve read. A separate tab in my library would be awesome, and if I wanted to re-read any of them- it won’t be a problem because they are all organized!!
Can we get a proper blocking or muting function for the forums? It would be helpful to the forums overall for users to be able to mute their view of the posts of troublemakers - it decreases the likelihood forum members will respond to flames, and when a troll gets nothing for their trolling, they tend to lose interest in the forum and will go away on their own. Having a solid blocking function will allow these forums to be used as they were meant to be - by folks helping others and getting help from others, as opposed to constant bickering and harassment that's been a feature of these forums for a couple of years now.
I know there is currently a block function, but it appears to only block PMs and does not block the offender's posts from the user's view.
I may have missed a post on this, but I would really like to know how to flag books that I've already read. (Or have the ability to do so added.) I recently switched from the Nook Color to Nook HD+ and have had to redownload my books. I'm not sure which ones I have read now and usually have to wait until I open to know for sure.
Would like the porn to go into their own separate category. When I am searching for a book to purchase, I run across a lot of the X rated ones. I just don't care to see them as I look for a good mystery, romance, etc.
I have the Nook Simple Touch and after just a few pages of looking at books, I get the "more" selector. Why is this? It would seem obvious since I select the down arrow to get to the next page of items that yes, I do want to see more. Can you please fix this in the next update? It's very annoying.
I think that Barnes & Noble could really use some input from its customers to create a "perfect" Nook that would really please its customers (you!).
Reply with your ideas for Barnes & Noble on what there should be on the next Nook!
I seen that the Apple iPhones and iPads have these really neat apps of fun games from Disney Junior like Mickey Mouse and Sofia the First and I already know that we aren't supported for the programming that they have but it would be amazing if there was a way to make Disney Junior fun apps for the little kids on the nook too. There aren't really any shows either and I've tried multiple times on google play and no luck there either.
Maybe instead of Disney, since it's set up for iTune access only, Nook kids can have fun Nick Jr. Apps for the kids like Bubble Guppies, Paw Patrol, Wallykazam and Dora the Explorer? Or maybe something fun similar to Leap Frog Games? It would be incredible if this was at all possible and I know there are a LOT of suggestions that are probably a lot easier to work on but I'm sure there are tons of kids and parents whom have Nooks that would liek this too.
I would like to be able to FLAG the book in some way on the outside (ie "pre-order", "new", etc). Then I wouldn't have to assign a book to a "tab" as suggested above. What happens if you don't finish the book? I would like to be able to have my own custom "flags" (ie Outlook) that would be visible from my libray in any sort option and they're specific to the way I want to "categorize" my books.
I added this to another post but it was suggested it should have its "own" post...
The wife and I are new to this forum, but not to the Nook or other forums, on thing that I have noticed is that there is not date/time stamp on threads or messages. Rather it shows month or day of the week on the older posts and how may hours ago a new post was done.
Looking at older issues and getting information it is hard to see if it is a new issue or something that has been around for awhile.
How long does it take to get pictures approved for use? I can't find anywhere else to ask this and haven't found any answers in my attempts to look in different sections. I tried searching but found no definite answers.
I'm still new here so don't flame me too bad for asking this.
Hi, Last year I read "Collapse" by Richard Stephenson. I bought it for download on my NOOK.
It's sequel "Resistance" is out by hasn't been available on NOOK. I don't have a Kindle and can't afford one right now. How can you order specific titles? I tried once on a contact email but it was returned with an error message.
Similar to Story Time at Barnes & Noble Stores, could you offer to show a family movie/cartoon from the NOOK HD to customers on a Wednesday or Thursday nights during the summer months? This could bring more families to the stores and store associates can explain all the great features of NOOK HD!
You could advertise by emails, flyers, and membership promotions.
"Angry birds flying into your netfix stream" means absolutely nothing to the various people looking for help, who are posting there with their individual issues that would be much easier to respond to in the other forums. It might be a good idea to use that space to let folks know what the issue board is for - help a newbie out and all.
