My HD+ was updated with newest version of the software 2.0.6 today.
Following the restart, my profile (the only one on the device) could no longer access any Apps.
This happened to me when I updated to 2.0.5, so already an issue known to B&N. WHY AGAIN?!!!
Apps still there, as listed under setttings>applications, but not under library or from the Apps button on home screen.
Accessing edit profiles>manage content>Apps I was able to reinstate access to stock Apps. Not to any of the purchased apps, which weren't listed.
Purchased Apps can be accessed via the hidden apps drawer - go to Apps page & tap the word Apps at the same time as holding down the volume up button.
You surely don't expect me to do this every time I want to use an App?
Deregistering the device will 'bring the Apps back' but I will lose my sideloaded version of Flash, so I am not willing to do that. Being in the UK, no flash in B&N shop for us & most of our key websites (BBC, ITV, Youtube) need Flash. Not to mention having to set up all my login details for 20+ internet accounts yet again.
So a less destructive solution, please.
Thank you.

I have an HD+ and have had this wipe out happen TWICE!!
Once for 2.0.5 and now for 2.0.6.
2.0.5 came as a surprise but I thought I had prepared for 2.0.6.
I backed up my internal memory sideloaded books and unmounte the SD.
I used the Settings => Device => check updates.
I updated... During the reboot I got a message about media.stopping
After another reboot I still only had access to 9 apps. No other BN categories and access only to my Non Barnes and noble sideloaded books. I could still see the apps under settings apps, but could not launch. I had nothing on the tabletop. After the complete wipeout of deregister/reregister I had to manually go through over 1000 books and 75 apps and download stuff one at a time.
TEST TEST TEST before sending this stuff out!! Or let the device autosync itself.

This did not happen with the update to 2.1
Yay!!
Thank you ![]()
There were isolated issues with Angry Birds and a Weather app, and people lost access to the B&N stock browser and therefore Flash, Googlemusic was playing up and comic books couldn't be read, but I think these issues have been raised individually above.
From a personal perspective, a big thank you for the access to Goole Playstore. I'm thrilled with the extra functionality that gives me, and I am for the first time recommending that my friends get a Nook HD/HD+. The fact that they can read their existing Kindle libraries is a big selling point, as is access to the BBC iplayer app.
