If it's a screen defect all you can do is replace it. There is a 1 year warranty on manufacturing defects. If you broke it the extended warranty would replace it. But, you'd have to get it to the US first before B&N would replace it under warranty.
Otherwise, all you can really do is buy a new device (you could replace the screen, but that would likely cost as much or more than buying a new device).
