I manually updated my NST to version 1.2.1 last night. This afternoon I bought 3 books, 2 pre-orders and 1 allready released. When I tried to download the released book it said "connecting" and stayed there. Since I have never seen "connecting" before I thought it had to be the update. When I came to the boards to see if anyone else was having trouble with the update I saw one person had suggested doing a factory reset. I have done so THREE times now and it still says version 1.2.1! Only now I can't read ANY of my books as they ALL say "connecting"! Since I read almost a book a day this is very upsetting. I am very disappoited with B&N right now.

Someone reported an issue downloading books today, you can see their post here.
I also tested it out and it appears that there is an issue with the servers that started at some point today. Hopefully they resolve this issue soon.
A work around I just found is to download the Nook app for your computer (Mac or PC) and download the book through that (it does seem to work, at least it did for me right now).
Once you have downloaded the books you can find them in the following place
Mac - hit command shift h to go to your home folder, in the 'documents' folder will be a 'my barnes and noble library' folder, your books are in there.
PC - You can go to 'my documents' and the same 'my barnes and noble library' folder should be there.
Once you have located the books as mentioned above you can load them on your Nook by plugging it in to your computer using the USB cable that came with it opening the Nook drive that loads up and then dragging the files to the My Books folder.
