same web browser instance across all profiles

ISSUE: same instance of web browser in different profiles

My wife is surfing the net and stops on a page on Rachel Rays cooking.   I switch to my profile, open the web browser, and I get to start from Rachel Ray's cooking page.

This is a big CON on the user experience.  And it is a major setback from a true "separate profile" experience.

This is both a user privacy element, and functionality element.   Will this be repaired?

Thank you for looking at this.

Part of the problem is that Android itself is written on the basis that each /application/ has a private data store. The profiles on the HD/+ are a new feature added by B&N, and basically only controls accessibility to books and applications, but not to the data used by the applications. Applications would need to be coded to find the current B&N profile, and to segregate internal states by that profile. That's a much deeper access than having the home/library/apps (which is really just a subset of the library) block viewing of file names.

ONe workaround, albeit an inelegant one, is to have separate browsers.

You have Puffin, Dolphin, Maxthon.

Note: I'm not saying this is a solution. Just a workaround.

Android 4.2's "profile" feature does allow different app storage locations, but it also requires complete reinstalls of the app for each profile, so it's also somewhat of a no-go. IT's definitely not an easy thing to work out, though the benefits to doing so would be vast.

I fully support this claim. What's the use of having different profiles if they share the same information?
