So you would think that children would be the quickest to adapt new technology. Mine have been learning to use a mouse or a remote control since before they were old enough to talk. But when it comes to ebooks, they resist. I loaded up the Nook with a bunch of cheap children's books before our latest trip and they wore out the paper books before they would touch the reader. Eventually, with no other options, they did read some books on my Nook, but a few days later we passed by an English-language bookstore and in the went, looking for paper to lug around.
I have nothing against traditional books--I hope they never go away--but a vacation seems like the perfect setting for ebooks. Instead, my kids showed an irrational attachment to paper. Why?
