I have a new nook color and was pleased to see two sample children's books I could use for my 6 y/o daughter, to test out the nook. But what I can't seem to figure out is how to tell which children's books are available for purchase that will offer the "read aloud" function for my daughter in the same manner that the 2 sample books do. Does anyone know if there's a specific area to shop in or something that tags the books as ones that will allow the child to toggle between "read loud" (there's a narrator) or "read to myself"

Go to bn.com.
Click "NOOKbooks" tab
Choose "Kids" under Subjects on the left
Choose "NOOKbook Read to Me" under Browse NOOK kids
There are only twelve results and three of them aren't available, but hopefully they'll keep adding more. There are still a lot of great picture books to choose from though.
Hope this helps. Enjoy your NOOKcolor. I love mine!

FWIW, I bought one of the Thomas the Tank books last night for my boys that was marked as having the read to me technology but it doesn't. They were dissappointed.

Thanks for the replies, I'm glad to know where to look, though disappointed selection is so limited!

I have found a couple curious george title with the "nook kids- read to me" logo and a few others in the 3.99 price range while just browsing through the nook kids books. If you notice under the book image it will have a different tab that is colorful.
I've yet to download any just put them in my ebook wish list... however, I'm now hesitant if some of them are not working. I would hate to waste the money.

Can you give us the title of the book, EAN, etc...?
It was Thomas and Friends, Percy's chocolate Crunch. I'm still waiting to hear back from customer service.

I do not see "NOOKbook Read to Me" under Browse NOOK kids. Am I overlooking it?

@Tambola,
We are working on a solution. Currently the best way to find NOOK kids books with the Read to Me feature is to search on BN.com

Searching for
Fun Facts About Pets
today, I found that searching on the nook does display it as read-to-me. I'm not sure if this is a recent update or not.

I agree, selection is VERY limited in my opinion, and it is disappointing.
did you buy the Mercer Mayer book for 1.99? it's a read to me and interactive and just well done.
also we like the freebie Monkey and Me..
I paid 12.00 for the chrysanthamum book and it was too pricey...even though I understand the well known authors command more for picture books, that is just too much money for a book my 4 year old might read a few times..
definitely the Mercer Mayer one was impressive and I would check that out..
what age are your kids?
I have a pre K aged girl, maybe we can be nook friends if your kids are similar ages, lend to me books lend out for 2 weeks
