If I subscribe to a magazine:
a) Can I cancel at anytime or are you obligated for a certain length of time?
b) The subscription says you pay monthly and it will be deducted from your credit card on file. I know with ebooks if there is a giftcard on file it uses the funds from the giftcard first. Is this also the case with the magazine subscriptions?
c) I know with the launch of the NOOKcolor it was listed that many magazines would be added. Is there a list of magazines you know are already signed on and just awaiting release?

A) All first-time subscribers receive a FREE 14-day trial. If you cancel your subscription before the end of the 14 days, you will not be charged. If you do not cancel the subscription, deliveries will continue and your default credit card will be charged automatically at the monthly subscription rate. Your subscription will automatically renew each month unless you choose to cancel. You are only eligible for one free trial for each eNewspaper and eMagazine.
B)Yes.
C)I don't have a list of those that are already signed on and just awaiting release, but here is a link to what we currently carry:

I signed up for the "free trial" on 3 magazines and my credit card was charged instantly (for the monthly rate, not the single-issue rate) on all 3. It was only a couple of bucks and I'm certainly getting more than enough enjoyment out of them, so I'm not going to howl about it. The "free trial" seems to be a load of BS though.

Are you sure that it is not a pre-authorization that you are viewing and not an actual charge?
All publishers require that the NOOKbooks they submit, including free NOOKbooks, are encrypted for each customer.
This also applies to NOOKperiodical Free Trials. You are not charged for a Free Trial.
All first-time subscribers receive a FREE 14-day trial. If you cancel your subscription before the end of the 14 days, you will not be charged. If you do not cancel the subscription, deliveries will continue and your default credit card will be charged automatically at the monthly subscription rate.
The “unlock” device is the billing name and credit card number of the primary credit card on your Barnes & Noble account.

Thanks Michael...I'm honestly not sure, I realized after posting that message that my online banking has been going thru some changes. Maybe they are showing the pre-auth instead of an actual charge, they didn't do that previously but have been acting pretty squirrely for the last few weeks.
Worst case scenario: I'm paying around $2 (or less) for an extremely enjoyable magazine reading experience, so I ain't mad at ya ![]()
