Do I have to have a copyright to publish my book with PubIt?

Re: Copyright

No you don't.

Technically a copyright exists when you create your work. Slap the "Copyright 2012" or whatever you like in the front. The only real difference that comes with registering your book and paying for a copyright is that you have to have a registered copyright in order to sue anyone for stealing your work.

Re: Copyright

I protect mine now with the Writers Guild of America...WGA. It is about half the price of a copyright and

protects you just as much legally. It is good for five years, at which time it can be renewed. Very easy to do, I do it all the time. The steps are easy. Just do it online. I hope this helps. :smileyhappy:
