Formatting

Are there any special tricks to formatting to be acceptable for BN to publish,  I don't want to go to the cost of having an outside company do this for me.

Also can you adivse on the best way to make a cover that is acceptable?

Thanks

Re: Formatting

For the cover I did 850 by 850 pixels. I used Word 2003 and saved as .doc If you have Word 2007 or 2010, save as Word 97-2003. In format, set the first line indent at .25. Do not double space. I used 1.5. I used courier new regular 12 point. Use page break between chapters and some use section break instead. Take out any headers or footers. No page numbers. You can type in the chapter heading on the first page of each chapter. All the chapters go into one document. It is eye of newt, wing of bat. It sounds complicated, but once you get the hang of it, it's okay. If I forgot something, someone will come along and add it. Ask as many questions as you need and good luck. If you publish the book and there are mistakes, you can edit the book as many times as you need.

Re: Formatting

LOL, Strayer!

Prgal1,

Saving your work as a .doc file plays nicer with pubit, but what I'm thinking your asking is how to properly format for Nook...right? If this is the case, you'll want to use this program. Its super easy and user friendly. And like Strayer said, if you need further help, just ask :smileyhappy:
