I have added another crochet pattern for the Nook called the Butterfly Earwarmer Pattern. In addition to designing crochet patterns, I work as a teacher in a high school, where I can observe the lastest teen fashions. Who knew that ripped up jeans would be such a fashion statement? For winter, the latest hot headwear amoung the girls is a pretty headband earwarmer. You see many with a big flower on the side of the hat. I have designed a fast and easy headband that sports a pretty butterfly. If you crochet and are looking to make a gift for that hard to buy for teen, my Butterfly Earwarmer crochets up in just a few hours. My students love it!

I'm going to be a little self-serving with my first post and suggest my own book.
Days Like These by Jason Baldwin-Stephens.
The novel is a coming of age piece that focus on the dorm room life at a New England University and how clueless college guys are about everything. The main characters are:
Ben: the college freshman who wants to break up with his girlfriend back home but it immobilized by his fear of "being the bad guy"
Dave: a student who recently decided that he is going to live in the moment
John: a student so focused on his reputation that he is blind to world around him
Becky: a rookie campus cop who is too concerned about her career to speak up when she should
While its a lengthy novel (though not as long as the Epub conversion page count makes it out to be) its a fast read mixing the humor and drama that one finds when living in a dorm.

With a sweet and gentle rhyme, this book instills a feeling for numbers, arithmetic and subtraction as the frogs leave the lily pad one by one until there are none left. A fun first reader only 99¢.

This is my novel, The Origin.
He may have super powers, but his is no hero's story...
For someone who has no idea how he acquired his special abilities, all Daniel wants is to live a simple, emotionally detached life. He has a quiet day job, a solo night job and no social life to speak of, and that's just the way he likes it.
That is until Olivia King, a woman from a past he'd rather leave behind, talks her way back into his life and he discovers that he is neither strong nor fast enough to fight off the attraction. Just as he finally accepts that she could be a permanent fixture in his life, Olivia disappears and he upends New York City to try and save the day.
But when being honorable doesn’t get him results, Daniel yields to the dark pull of his powers, committing unspeakable acts in order to rescue the only person he’s trusted with his secrets. And just when his life could not possibly get more complicated, a psychic delivers some damning news that will pit his own happiness against the safety of those around him.
Daniel has never considered himself a hero, but in the end, as he looks at the blood on his hands, he wonders if he isn’t the villain of the story after all.

Genome , a novel that combines Sci Fi and things that go bump in the graveyard.
I'm a new author with my first SciFi/Ghost story, Genome. And I've started a blog about writing in the ePub world at 'garyalahenson'. I'll be extending the blog to include reviews and comments about writing in general.
My question is about 'placement' on the B&N PubIt! bookshelf. It seems I'm surrounded by wolves, vampires and erotica (mostly about wolves and vampires).
Hmmm. I have no problem with these books but mine is out of place amoungst the steamy bodies.
How do I set the options so that I'm in the true 'new sci fi' categories and not the erotica?
Thanks for any help!

My apologies, I've been told I messed up my blog url.
I'm still open for ideas on better placement for my novel.
Thanks and keep writing!

I have a great suggestion if you need a new series. It really combines what I liked about Harry Potter- magic - Twilight -vampires- Hunger Games- strong female lead character, with Lord of the Rings -elves, etc. Give it a try I think you'll love it!
