how to Promote ebooks

I am looking for ways to promote my ebooks.

Is there a special place on the B&N Community to

promote an ebook

Re: how to Promote ebooks

I try to promote my books along with my picture books that are published by traditional publishers. I hope it adds to my "cred" as an author who just happens to be writing some ebooks too. I just started this, so it remains to be seen how effective it is.

Sunburn  Ironically, my ebooks sell far better than my first two "traditionally" published books.

Re: how to Promote ebooks

Congrats WORDSMITH! I finally finished my first book, The Leaf Catcher, and am looking for ways to promote it as well. Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube seem like very useful tools to consider as well as blogs and writer communities such as this one. I was also wondering how we might be chosen to include our book as a Free Friday book as it seems like a great way to promote as well ... admins?

When you reply to any message, you will see "Add Product" on right. Click on it, then search your book by title or author name and then click on "add title and cover" or something similar. It will show where the cursor was. It is very simple but looks complicated in explaining. Good luck!

You're welcome. The hard part I find is to promote book. It's chaos over there. Either I am not good or there are too many people pushing their books in this easy publication ebook age. All the best.

Re: how to Promote ebooks

Hey drdln, I just realized when I looked at your titles that you would actually like my book as the main character uses self-discipline, breathing, meditation etc. as ways to help him endure his torture in prison. One of the most intersting things I have noticed is that I often find connections within all the books I read.

Re: how to Promote ebooks

One thing I have been doing for a while is having free short stories that are available via Smashwords and supplied to B &N and other outlets. Smashwords allows free books and if you follow the guidelines in the style guide, the books will be put into their premium distribution to the other outlets. My three short stories are available at B & N and they have helped with additional sales. Since Amazon now matches prices, one changed to free there, It went viral for a while (almost 8000 downloads so far) and led to more sales there as well. Good luck!

DaxM, if your characters do all that suggested in my books then you should be interested in my titles.  Will you be interested in exchanging books? You pickup one of mine that interests you the most and I will consider it.

If interested give me your email and we will go from there. Just let me know. Thanks for your interest.

Re: how to Promote ebooks

I've done some extensive research on this topic, andevery author has their own way of promoting themselves. You can make a book trailer, a http://www.tumblr.com/ blog account, and/or flyers/posters and post them on interest sites. I.E. If you write about mermaids, find mermaid forums, groups, fantasy forums and groups and post a link to your books or blog so people can buy or find out more about your books. In every forum there is usually always a signature option, post your blog, book trailer, links to your books directly, and/or Pubit! user profile links in or as a signature.

Also, don't hesitate after you've copywritten your works, to send them to ebook reviewers so they can help promote you as well! You just have to do your research.

Check out my Tumblr, I haven't  written any books yet, only a few posts, and I'm just trying to get followers now. http://anaydenapublishing.tumblr.com/

Re: how to Promote ebooks

Starting a Tumblr, while excellent advice, is also dangerous. I found that site so addictive, that I ended spending too much of my writing time pissing about in the micro-blog. Twitter's having the same effect, and that's where I'm doing most of my promoting at this point.

I do have a blog. I update it fairly frequently, and I look for ways to engage intereste folks. It's working, albeit slowly.

Hello! DaxMTucker ~ I know you posted last month, but I am reading through the promotions thread and saw your comments. I am commenting ON BEHALF of the author and checking out different blogs for him.

I also appreciated you asking how to post the cover art, so will try it here as well.

Your book sounds very interesting indeed.

If you find some special ways for promotion, please pass them along as I weave my way through the eBook world.

Re: how to Promote ebooks

I guess my request is the same as most of the others who posted. I emailed one of my new favorite authors, Francis Ray, about not being able to find a few of her books in ebook format. She told me the best option was to contact the source that I use to purchase my ebook and ask them to request the books in that format or something along that line. I would greatly appreciate if B&N could do that. I love the site and how convenient and easy it is to use. Plus the Nook is awesome. So if someone could help out with that I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
