Why for author Richard Stark books is the Kindle edition cheaper than Nook ?

Just got a new Nook and want to read through he Richard Stark series of books with detective Hunter.  I was stunned when the eBook price was more then the paperback price.  I checked Amazon's prices and now wonder why in every case of some 25 of author Richard Stark books is the Kindle edition cheaper than the Nook ?  Kind of depressing...

I'm seeing lots of Richard Stark books from the 'Parker' series, but they are all a little less than the paperback edition available through B&N. As for why Amazon is pricing books cheaper, it's because they can make up the profit by selling other things than books/ebooks. Once they drive enough of the competition out of business they can then up the prices on books/ebooks to make up the lost profit on whatever other product they are currently undercutting.
