Thanks Jeanne. I still haven't received mine yet so I guess I will wait until tomorrow to see if they send me one before I call. Thanks again, Anita ![]()

Thanks for the link. I never received my email about this -- just double-checked my spam folder too!

Hmm, I don't seem to be able to actually get any of the classic ebooks in the Kick-Start Kit. I clicked the above link, clicked "download now" for a couple books, and got the usual "Thank you for your eBook order" page with an order number. But no books have been added to my online ebook library, no email receipt, and syncing in NOOKstudy doesn't show my new books either.

There are technical difficulties afoot at BN.com right now. Nobody can download an eBook. It's not just you, and it's not just the difficulties wtih the Kick-Start Kit. The only answer for now is "continued patience, grasshopper".

I did not receive an email either. Thanks for posting the link, it was nice that there was a simple and immediate fix! I wonder how so many of us missed getting the information? A glitch somewhere!

What I'd like to know is, why do you have to give a credit card number for FREE downloads?

Barnes & Noble's DRM (Digital Rights Management, or copy protection) system uses your credit card number to generate the encryption key. It is essentially your password for reading the e-book. You have to have a default credit card registered so that when you download, your copy is encrypted with the appropriate key.
