B&N: Please provide an easy and clear "extended return policy" definition for unhappy NT owners. Those of us that would prefer to return or exchange our devices would like to hear from YOU.
I purchased my NT a few days before Thanksgiving and did so because I could enjoy the beautiful display as an ereader and tablet. Finally, a B&N tablet that allowed me free access to my Android apps already owned and in use on my Android phone. And, the ability to synch my new NT with my PC and phone for my Outlook contacts and calendar. I even installed my favorite extreme alarm app that serves as an alarm clock and audible reminder of appointments in my Outlook calendar.
Then B&N updated our devices (bah humbug!!!) with firmware that restricts our access to Google and Amazon Android applications. All of a sudden it becomes simply a nice ereader with some games and access to some apps but it is no longer even close to being a tablet. What the heck??!!
So although it remains a beautiful device for reading I was really motivated by its Tablet description and original open functionality. I really have no wish to root the unit so I am considering a return which would allow me to simply purchase a real 7" tablet (Acer, Toshiba, Asus or Samsung).
Those B&N employees and others on these forums that complain about rants or posts by NT owners unhappy with the new walled off settings introduced by their last firmware....sorry but we are also entitled to our opinions and posts. Please, move along and feel free to ignore us but don't berate us.
Thank you.

I also bought my NT just before Thanksgiving. When I first read a post on a forum that mentioned that it would allow side-loading of apps I had two thoughts:
1. Wow... bonus.
and then just after that I thought:
2. I wonder how long it will take them to disable that since it is obvious it was unintentional just by the mere fact that they have not touted it as a "feature".
Anybody that pretends they thought it was a "feature" that would never be taken away is either extremely naive or merely making that claim in an attempt to bolster their opinion that it is something B&N somehow owes them. They have every right to have that opinion; although others have right to point the ridiculous the logic required to reach their conclusion.

And here we go again. The poster has a legitimate point in his mind, whether anyone else agrees or not. Let the point be expressed without everyone telling him why he's wrong to make the point and he's happy. Or you can keep telling him how wrong he is and twelve pages later start complaining because the subject won't die. He's interested in making his point/complaint, do you really think he want's your opinion on why you think he's wrong?

And I did NOT insult anyone by simply posting my opinions and request for B&N's response. Please move along if you find my concerns irritating or controversial.

When someone jumps into a forum and posts yet another post on a subject that has a few dozen other threads on the subject then that person was pretty much just trolling. (Or can you point out something in the OP that was somehow "new" and contributed to the discussion?)

This is what I was thinking when I read this(the OP); "They already did."

Thanks! I could not find where the Nook Refunds statement was posted despite several comments that refer to an extended refund period.

If you have even one post in the alleged troll's post then you're guilty of helping perpetuate it and have no grounds to complain about it. An unanswed post will soon sink into obscurity.

To be fair, a new person may or may not what's been discussed in the forum before he posts his comments. If he hasn't been lurking or taken the time to look over recent discussions, he has no way of knowing how often a topic has been discussed.

Someone that posts a new post without having taken time to review recent discussions should probably not be posting.
On the other hand it is obvious this is not the case for this thread: the OP posted an opinion on a controversial subject and then added a comment that they have a right to their opinion and people should ignore them if they don't agree. That shows the OP is fully aware of the situation.
