Can I have two NOOKs for one B&N account?

Can I have multiple NOOK devices or NOOK devices plus PC/MAC? The idea is buy a NOOK book once and download it to multiple devices. Then in home I can read the book from a big PC screen and out of home I can read in NOOK Tablet or a phone. If it works for NOOK books, does it also work for NOOK Apps? Will all devices have to have the same number of NOOK books/Apps due to the sync to BN.com?

I have done this with a NOOK color and NOOK Simple Touch. If the same title is available on both devices, it works as you describe. The only thing that don't are enhanced magazines, and, I assume, books, that require on NC or NT.

I don't run the B&N software on my desktop computer, so can't comment on whether that works the same way.

Free software should be Free

I have a N1E, a NST and a Nookcolor.  I also run the desktop software and the Android Software on my phone.  Everything is on every device, even those things that won't work on that particular device, primarily magazines.  Nook apps only work on the NookColor and on the tablets.

Yes I have single account that I have accesed on a NC, NT, Xoom, and a laptop. Some magazines only work on the nooks or have interactive features only usable on the nooks. The books work well everywhere. The shop access is superior on the nooks. I haven used my smarphone, but others have. I believe there is a five device limit for a single account.

I believe the rule is 6 concurrent devices, including the Nook software and apps.  If you fill up you can unregister one and add another.

Thanks for all the answers. Now my next concern is: Since all devices have the books or apps you have, if one device reach its capacity (for example, a smartphone) and has to archive stuff, are all other devices forced to archive also? I have a 16GB Nook Tablet now, and consider to buy another NOOK Tablet 8GB which has only 1GB reserved for NOOK contents. Does this make sense? I am concerned that my storage capacity in my 16GB NT would be totally wasted.

As of right now archiving on one device will archive on all devices attached to the account. If a linked device runs out of storage space it will simply not be able to download any additional content (an error dialogue will pop up if you try to download past the limit).

Some people's minds are like cement; all mixed up and permanently set.

Re: Can I have two NOOKs for one B&N account?

If you archive something and downoad it again you can choose to not re install it and just remove it from the home screen. This does save memory with apps and games. It does reset any app or game to its initial start condition. There are some games I feel do not perform well on the color so I did not install them. Book files are so small and download so easily I don't bother.
