A selling point for me is the ability to access magazines on the Nook Tablet. On my iPad, when I read GQ or Vanity Fair, there are certain interactive features such as additional photos, built-in video, audio, and other content. Time and Sports Illustrated also has these features, but to a lesser extent (just extra photos and special formatting).
My question is: is the magazine reading experience the same on the Nook Tablet, or is it a straight digital translation (i.e., the same pages reproduced on the Nook as if you held the paper magazine in your hands). From my understanding, magazines on the Kindle Fire also have interactive features, but I could be wrong. Thanks!

If the digital magazine itself offers interactive concent (like Time Magazine, for example) then it is on the Nook. Soffer more than others; Sunset isn't as extensive as Time but it is not just the print version reproduced in digital form.

It all depends on the publisher. All the Conde Nast (which your GQ and Vanity Fair are) and Time Inc. titles are fully interactive, while it's a little hit or miss from the others.

I wish that the special interactive magazines were also in the simple magazine format for the "apps" readers. It would be nice to have the interactive format for the native Nook, but also be able to continue with your reading on the "apps" - which don't support the required magazine format and interactive features.
