Re: Watching movies on Nook Tablet from SDcard

That shouldn't be an issue but ... can you see ANY files or directories on your SD card when you select the card under My Files?

Re: Watching movies on Nook Tablet from SDcard

there is nothing that comes up under my files for a link to open the sd card so i opened each folder (books, movies, pictures etc) looking for the sd card and nothing. when i put in the sd card the icon at the bottom of the nook to eject the card comes up but that is the only icon or link i ever see for the sd card.

Re: Watching movies on Nook Tablet from SDcard

In Library > My Stuff > My Files it opens up "My NOOK" first If you have a memorycard in it (and it is recognized, it should look like this:

tap on "Memory Card"

Re: Watching movies on Nook Tablet from SDcard

Go into settings, device info, and it should say there ' sd card detected'.  If not, try turning it fully off, removing and reinserting the sdcard.  The NT should automatically format it and add its own directory structure.  You should also be able to see both on your PC if you plug it in.  PNCs are good cards and should work.

I do, but unfortunately due to time-contraints, I am currently not working on a Mac version. I am hoping to have time for it this summer, but I can not promise anything.

No, there are 2 "MovieGallery" apps. For some reason, ADR decided to use the same name as what I use for my MovieGallery app.

the "MovieGallery" app with the cat-eyes doesn't care where your video files are located. it will find them and play them regardless of if you have them in the movies folder or not.

Re: Watching movies on Nook Tablet from SDcard

The nook only plays movies in a particular MP4 format.

You can not just copy any video file over to it.

There are a lot of people who use my software, DVD Catalyst 4, for their conversions for the NOOKcolor and NOOKtablet.

To get started, please have a look here for a step by step guide:

Re: Watching movies on Nook Tablet from SDcard

So I used Handbrake to convert a movie to mp4 format. Copied that file to the sd card in the NT. It copied without a problem. When the NT was connected to my computer I could pull up the file and watch it no problem. But, when I tried to play it on the NT a message popped up saying "Sorry, this video cannot be played". What can I do to get this to play on my NT?

Poster dvdcatalyst probably won't promote his product on this board, so I'll do it for him.

Purchase dvdcatalyst for the ridiculously low price of $10 (at least it was when I bought it) then follow the directions for converting DVDs for Nook Tablet and Nook Color (I use it to convert DVDs for my iPad and android phone).

You can use handbrake, however unless you can use on of the built in profiles, you will need to go through the settings and make sure everything is configured properly for the NT.

Re: Watching movies on Nook Tablet from SDcard

I just want to add that handbrake is a great product and I used it for years to RIP and convert my DVDs, but DVDcatalyst is just much easier to use and successfully converts DVDs that handbrake chokes on.

I run DVDcatalyst under vmware on my macbook and it works great there as well as natively on windows.

I keep on hoping for a MacOS native version of DVDcatalyst.
