No, but.. There are read to me kid's books and you can also record your own voice reading the book for your child if that fits. And for pdfs there's an app, ezpdf that will read them for you.
Text to speech has never been available on nooks and is actually limited in use for books by publishers, so while kindles have it, not all books do.
