Can we please have access to the android market without having to hack our machines? According to Android Marketplace this is a B&N descision. If you agree please vote for this post by touching the laurel leaf at left.

Ability to cut, copy and paste text.

 

If there are legal issues with allowing this with books and magazines, at least allow apps like Evernote to have the feature so one can re-arrange text by moving a paragraph around with cut/paste.

The browser was designed to have a hardware back button.  However the only back option is at the top of each page.  For those of us who read long pages, it takes a long time to get back to the top, several swipes are required.   I would like this fixed with a permanent back button on the bottom of the screen rather than dynamic buttons.

There is currently no way to backup any of the application data, application settings, or Nook settings on the Nook Tablet/Color.  This is a real problem which needs to be addressed.  I was recently instructed by support to do a factory reset on my device to see if this would solve the problem (which it didn't).  Afterwards I had to manually reconfigure every single nook setting.  I was able to re-download all my books, magazines, and applications, but none of the data associated with the applications is stored anywhere but on the nook and there is no way to backup or restore that data.  Can we please have a method to backup and restore our Nook Devices?

Right now one has to hit the Nook button every single time one wants to access the browser. Would be helpful if one could copy it to the desktop screen.

Please bring back the onscreen quick menu so that we don't have to work the "N" button to death. Please, please, pretty please bring it back. I don't know why it was removed it is SO much easier and faster to use than pressing that dratted button. I hate having to push the "N" button all the time--I just know it will break from all the over-use.

Can we please have the option to sort books by something other than alphabetical... like release date... order in a series... genre... etc?

With new apps appearing in the nook app store, the app icons and lists per category need fixing. Currently there are multiple categories with the same apps showing as the category icon (multiple categories with the same apps / icons showing - Angry Birds is the icon for multiple categories, not just games but Education for example. It is important to showcase accurately categorized apps in the right categories... Angry Birds for example should only show up as the icon for games. If there is too much overlap between categories then it might make sense to reduce the number of categories to reduce redundancy or at least restrict each app to the *most appropriate* category. There are also some very good apps not listed in the natural category. For example, Dropbox, puffin, pulse news, scrabble, skitch, splash top remote desktop, movie gallery, Netflix, Hulu, pandora, goodreads, ustream, epicurious, Evernote, tunein radio, mini piano, Bejewelled 2, puzzle quest 2, cozi, quickoffice pro, and ezPDF reader are among the best apps IMHO on the device, and yet are very hard to see just by browsing by category. The nook app store needs to be made less redundant, with fewer but more complete and accurate categories for people to find what they are looking for... One possibility might be to allow large categories, and being able to see the broader category, like "entertainment" for example, and then as the shopper clicks on a subcategory like "games" have that be a further filtered subcategory... Because right now, having many different categories including inappropriate ones all showing the same angry birds app icon only emphasizes a lack of apps, and makes it very confusing for people looking for something specific... Apps need to highlight those apps that add the best new functionality to the device.

This issue has been brought up ever since the first nooks arrived.  It's one of those things that keeps coming back up and is universally agreed to be a real oversight. 

 

Nook owners (at the very least NC and NT owners), really want on device file management.  Recently it's been a complaint as regarding the downloads folder.  People download epubs using the web browser, but the epubs don't show up in their library visual, they must instead always go to the downloads folder in order to read downloaded books or look at photos they've downloaded.  Or, they must hook up to a computer to move the files over to their "appropriate" areas on the nook.

 

It really would be nice to be able to move items or copy items on the device.  It actually is considered by many to be a necessity-deleting, moving, copying, pasting.

 

If there's an app in the works, it really would be nice for B&N to look at it and get it approved soon.  If not, it would be nice for B&N to create one.

 

 

Right now any BN content (books, magazines, apps. etc.) that is bought automatically tries to download on every device registered to the account. Granted, this is a nice feature for people who want to share content: a married couple who wants to share books, a parent who wants to buy books for their child, even some one like me who just wants to share apps between a Color and a Tablet.

 

However, it does cause some headaches. A parent with a shared account with a child might not some of the more spicy books on the child's device. Someone with an eInk NOOK will still have to download books that only work on a color device. In my personal example, I have apps on my Tablet that I don't want on my Color, yet I can not selectively remove them from just my Color. 

 

Making it possible to go into MyNOOK and select certain devices to download certain content on would be a great boon to people who have multiple devices.

I would love to have the option to add my books to a shopping bag for my Nook books. I often buy more than one book per shopping session and I find it annoying to have to check out for each book. Then I get a purchase confirmation email for each book. Not very efficient.

 

Am I the only one who feels this way?
