A few (3) questions regarding the NT.

1. Is there anyway to lock all those app icons in place so I can swipe anywhere on the screen without moving everything around? I did a search of the forums but couldn't find any resolve. I find this to be a huge flaw of the NT so surely there is something I am missing because I think more people would complain.

2. Why is it that when I added music to my NT all the album art ended up in my media library? About two images per song, a big one and a small one. I'm sure deleting them won't affect the album art when I actually listen to the music, but I just want to know why it did that.

3. And finally, does anyone else's NT have a kind of yellowy effect? I compared websites on different devices and noticed how yellow the white pages were on this thing. It drives me crazy and I just have to know if mine is a fluke or if they are just like that.

Thank you for any help or advice you can provide! I don't expect anyone to be able to answer all, but please help on any that you can.

Re: A few (3) questions regarding the NT.

Ok I will take a stab...

No I don't think you can lock the icon's into place.

I have the same issues with album art going to my media library. Not all the time though......

You can change the "color" of your book pages. It sounds like your device is set on butter or mocha. To change that, when reading just tap the bottom of the screen. Pick "text" and then "theme". In theme you can then choose what display color you want.

Hope that helps....

Re: A few (3) questions regarding the NT.

I can't add anything about questions 1 and 3, but I think that you will find that the album art will appear on any device that you use, at least if it is a PC. It's not the tablet.

I copy of lot of music from old LP records that I buy at garage sales to my computer. I know there is no album art associated with the MP3 files when I create them on my hard disc or on my MP3 player, but it routinely shows up on both. I think it's a function of Windows Media Player or the software I use to convert the files to MP3. In any case, it doesn't hurt to delete them.

Re: A few (3) questions regarding the NT.

SarahNade,
  In response to your questions:

1)  There is not way to lock the nook apps on the home screen.  However, when you place apps on the home screen, you may double tap a part of the screen that does not have an app on it and it will organize the screen and make it more difficult to accidentally move apps.

2)  Album art is attached to the mp3 file and will show up on most devices that it is placed on.  Deleting the album art will not affect the ability for the nook to play that file.

3)  It sounds like the issue you are having is the discoloration of white webpages? If this is the case, you may have adjust the brightness of your screen.  If you go into settings on the navigation bar (or press the quick settings tab on the bottom right hand of the screen), you can adjust the brightness.  This will make pages appear whiter.

I hope this helps! As always, there is a well-trained nook specialist waiting for you at your local Barnes and Noble. I would suggest stopping by if you continue to face these issues.

-No. But I will put it in as a suggestion on the forum for that.

The album art should still stick to the music file. For some reason books and music files tend to keep a seperate copy of the album art or cover art and after deleting it the pictures still stay. Not sure why,

3. And finally, does anyone else's NT have a kind of yellowy effect? I compared websites on different devices and noticed how yellow the white pages were on this thing. It drives me crazy and I just have to know if mine is a fluke or if they are just like that.

-Like the previous poster said, try adjusting the brightness. Otherwise, is it only certain websites ot is it all websites? Do you notice this on other applications or files?

Re: A few (3) questions regarding the NT.

Thank you all for your help!

I'm not sure if the yellowy thing has to do with brightness or not (I don't have my other device to compare it to as I'm on vacation) but I'm just going to have to get over it.

Re: A few (3) questions regarding the NT.

About your 3rd issue:  I have both a Nook Color and a Nook Tablet.  The Color does not have the same yellowish tint; the color on it appears much more neutral to my eye.  When I first got my Tablet, that color shift drove me crazy, especially when displaying some of my own photos.  It is not your imagination, but do try different color settings and brightness settings until you find one you can live with.  In the e-reader on the Color, I used the grey setting, but on the Tablet, oddly enough, I find I like butter the best.  Go figure.

Re: A few (3) questions regarding the NT.

Not a solution but a workaround for the swiping problem. Since there are three 'home' screens, organize your apps & books on them as someone else said using the 'clean up panel' function, but making sure you leave a space at the bottom for swiping. I find I use the same dozen apps all the time, so any I don't use at least once a week get deleted from the home screen to keep it clean. After all, I can still access them through the app button. I do agree B&N needs to update so the panels can be locked. I would prefer to organize the icons my own way, not alphabetically, but until they do, spreading them out on all three screens works.

Re: A few (3) questions regarding the NT.

check this very objective test data on NOOK Tablet VS Kindle Fire VS Ipad 2. ..http://www.displaymate.com/IPS_Tablet_ShootOut_1.htm#Highlights...test results agree there is a yellow brown shift. Unfortuntely, its intentional .A compromise to prevent the screen from being too dark and not drain the battery!

Re: A few (3) questions regarding the NT.

I just bought a Nook Tablet 8GB and it was the first thing I noticed. On my Nook Color-the Earth is a beautiful Blue Marble, its a lousy yellow-brown-green on the tablet. I don't know if I can tolerate this. I like beautiful photos with vibrant colors the Nook Color displays
