All I want is monopoly!

I orginally decided on getting the nook tablet over a kindle because I liked the idea that it had better hardware, and you could put your own memory into it to increase storage.  But after using my mom's kindle fire, I am shocked at the price differences between apps.  Now, I would be more than willing to support B&N by buying aps, but there needs to be more of them!  I love the game monopoly, but it is nowhere to be found in the ap store.

The chess ap that comes with the nook is pretty lame, especially compared to a free one (ad supported) that you can get on the kindle.  I really hope that B&N is working something out with advertisers so they can offer more free versions of games, or just more games in general period.

Over all I'm very satisfied with my nook, I just wish the ap selection was up to snuff with the hardware.  I mean imagine all the cool things you could do with the built in mic?!  Why can't we have a version of skype on there?!  Talk to the devs, get stuff rolling B&N!!

I think that all the apps should be from the android app store like smart phones.

Re: All I want is monopoly!

I have the Monopoly app on my NT -- got it free from the Amazon App Store during my frenetic sideloading era (i.e., before 1.4.1). The game is colorful and quite polished, almost like a PC game in appearance (writ small, of course). However, I'm not sure about the game play. I haven't spent much time with the app yet, so this is not a review, but I have my doubts about the ease of actually navigating the game using the touch-screen interface. It seems awkward and not intuitively "Monopolistic."

Re: All I want is monopoly!

Not really related to your question, but after you sideloaded the apps, how are you able to view them... I read you can still search and fine them, but they do not show up on the NT..

Re: All I want is monopoly!

The first app to sideload is Nook Color App Manager, which (1) collects all other non-B&N apps in one window, and (2) can be added to the NT home screen.

Re: All I want is monopoly!

I actually had the Nook Tablet (I just upgraded to the HD+) and I DID have the monopoly game, and The Game of Life. But now with the HD+ I can't find it. I have no idea why. I will be calling today to find that out.

Re: All I want is monopoly!

Some Apps aren't available on HD & HD+ yet. Scrabble is another.

When EA ports over Monpoly and Game of Life for HD and HD+, then they will be available. You should contact EA and let them know you want the games. The more people that contact them, the higher the chance they'll port over the games for HD and HD+.
