Re: App Requests

DrawSomething app.  Definitely.

Hi and Hello,

I, too, REALLY wish they'd make this app for the Nook.

It's the only thing that's holding me back from getting the 16G tablet.

Re: App Requests

My understanding is that it is up to the app developers to submit their apps to be added to the Nook store. So contact them & let them know you'd love their app tailored to the Nook. I went to the Draw Something developer site & added my name to the list of people who have requested they make it available to the Nook.

Re: App Requests

We are actively developing new apps for Nook Color/Tablet.  Please send us suggestions at booksummit@ymail.com.  We love hearing what people are interested in and use it to guide our development.

Re: App Requests

you know what i think is sad? that some of the Nooks TOP SELLING apps include an astromamy app and an alphebet app i mean i know SOME people get them but on most app store the top selling apps would include: Fruit Ninja, Draw Something, Temple Run, Doodle Jump, ect..... Oh Wait i forgot THEY DONT HAVE THOSE APPS! they only one on that list they do have is Doodle Jump but its very expensive as is Angry Birds.

Re: App Requests

So what you're saying is...

The NOOK caters to a different demographic than a "normal" Android device.

WOAH

Some people's minds are like cement; all mixed up and permanently set.

Well, I'm not at all bothered by it, but has been stated and suggested before, it is up to the app developers to modify their apps to work on the Nook products so your best option is to locate the developers of those apps and request they provide them for the Nook.

A while back, a lot of folks were complaining that the only new apps coming out were games and childrens apps.

Re: App Requests

App request? Here's one ... allow access to Google app store. B&N is crippling the nook by forcing us to buy from their sorely inadequate app store.

Re: App Requests - for college and graduate students

College students, especially graduate students are buying tablets (including the Nook) because of the amount of reading we have to do.  There are "rentable" books available for many of the classes at the undergraduate level (where the Nook has a good reputation), but at the graduate level there are few textbooks (usually books that make good references for the future) and lots of professional journal articles.  When you're reading hundreds of pages a week, the expense (not to mention the waste of paper) can be excessive.  Thus, having good apps for PDF files is necessary (and there are good ones available).

I would like to see more apps directed at our needs.  One thing that really bugs me (and caused some of my colleagues to go with other tablets) is that (1) you can't sideload useful apps not available from B&N, and (2) there is no statistics package of any sort available for the Nook (as of last night).  I'd also like to see some way to search for apps that would be more appropriate for us and not get innundated with a bunch of "kiddie" stuff.

I've had my NT long enough that I couldn't take it in and trade up to a HD, but it's still a major help - even though having bluetooth (full-sized keyboard/mouse) and voice-to-talk would be awesome!

Re: App Requests

How about Angry Birds Star Wars for the Nook Tablet??  I'm an Angry Customer because the B&N app is only for the new Nook HD.:smileymad:
