Apps not updating!

Why not?  I have a few apps that updates are available.  But when I try it tells me all apps are up to date.

Susan apparently it's a glitch. If you want to update your apps, you will need to archive them, then go to My Stuff and select Archived, then unarchive the app. It will load with the newest  update.

This is an issue.  Nook Color is updating as expected but the Nook Tablet is not.  The archive/unarchive method took several attempts before updating the three Apps I had.

And it's annoying to dance around the prob. I used to check for updates all the time with my NC, not so with my tablet.

I am having the same issue. BN support is a joke. First of all, my "check for updates" button on my apps screen does nothing. But let's just say I do the archive/unarchive steps, how do I know if my app was updated or not??? Anyone???

As far as I can tell if you archive the app and then unarchive it, it should/will grab the update and download correctly.

Thanks Doreen. But if I do that (archive/unarchive), how do I know if I did receive an update? Also, how can I tell when any of my apps need updates if my app page isn't showing me??? Again, Thanks!

The one thing I figured out is that if an app has an update, when you view your apps in your app drawer, the app icon will say the word "UPDATE" on the icon itself.

 

After you unarchive the app requiring an update, the word "UPDATE" will no longer appear on the app icon.

 

Hope this helps :smileywink: until a fix comes along. Maybe Alex will see that the fix comes soon.

Thanks for posting this! I tried to update my angry birds apps and it would just tell me all apps are up-to-date. But i did as you suggested and it worked!

I notice people in different forums asking about app updates but the new forum BN did to get feature and ideas has an entry on app updates and it has zero votes..

If you would like to see app updates fixed, please vote there.

 

Although it is a little early to tell if BN really is going to follow through on votes, early indicates seem promissing. The forum is about a week all and some posts have already got "Acknowledged" status.

I'm not even getting a window when I check for updates telling me that all apps are up to date. The arrow in the bottom left just keeps spinning. I'm on 1.4.2 stock. Any ideas why or how to fix?

I'm on Software version 1.4.2 as well and I'm also seeing the little sync arrows just spinning around with no end in sight... We started having problems when my fiance and I tried to update Angry Birds Seasons. BOY What a mistake that was! Now every time we turn on the NOOK we get the message that says, "Unable to install"

We tried to fix the problem by archiving Angry Birds, but that didn't help at all. It just wiped out all of our user data, so now our high scores that we've been working on for the past five months are GONE! Let me tell you, I'm not too impressed with this "archiving" option. Why archive the game but not our user data? Might as well just be a DELETE button!
